Kate Middleton helped Meghan Markle when the latter joined the firm. According to filmmaker Bidisha, the Duchess of Cambridge was the one who "schooled" the Duchess of Sussex about the ins and outs of being a member of the royal family.

When Prince Harry introduced Meghan Markle to the world, many were ecstatic. Several believed that she would make a great friend to the Duchess of Cambridge, especially because both women are close in age.

There were various rumors about Kate Middleton and Markle allegedly having a fallout. However, according to filmmaker and broadcaster, Middleton was among those who helped Markle when she was still new in the firm.

"Apparently, Kate also schooled Meghan in some of those English conventions which you may not think about as an arriving American," Bidisha said (via Express) on Channel 5's Kate: Our Queen in Waiting documentary.

"What are all those unspoken rules that you need to follow if you are a royal, and that makes me think when it is her time to be the Queen, she herself is going to be a kinder woman opening success in generations," she continued.

Etiquette consultant William Hanson also said, at the time of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding, that Markle would not have a specific tutor. The new member will be trained by the royal household and the other members who have "married in" will pass on their knowledge to the newest addition.

"As the most recent person to marry into the Royal Family The Duchess of Cambridge will be of the most use to Meghan, I would imagine," he added. "I suspect Catherine will be passing on an array of things she has learned – some the hard way – to Meghan, mainly focussing on wardrobe pitfalls and traps and perhaps also conversational techniques too."

Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle's Relationship

The two duchesses are often pitted against each other. Royal fans thought that the royal trio — Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry — would become fab four with Megan Markle's arrival. However, instead, there was a division between the royal siblings and eventually, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down from their royal duties and move to the United States.

There were allegations that the two duchesses couldn't agree with each other. There were also speculations that there was a falling-out between their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry.

One thing between Middleton and Markle was clear, the Duchess of Sussex denied making the Duchess of Cambridge cry in the run-up of her royal wedding to Prince Harry.

Markle told Oprah Winfrey during their interview that "the reverse happened." She alleged that Middleton was upset about something related to the bridesmaids' dresses and it made her cry.

However, Markle said Middleton already apologized and even sent her a card. She appreciated how the future queen of consort took responsibility, saying she would do the same.

Markle said she had already forgiven Middleton and even complimented Prince William's wife, saying, she is a "good person." The Duchess of Sussex added that she protected that story from leaking, so she was surprised when months after her wedding the reverse of the story made headlines.

An insider said that the two duchesses are already on good terms after baby Lili's arrival.

"Lili'sTensions have eased between Meghan and Kate," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "Kate even sent Meghan a gift for the baby. They're in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet."

Roya Nikkhah, the royal editor for The Sunday Times, spoke with multiple aides, friends and sources who know Kate Middleton to commemorate the Duchess of Cambridge's 40th birthday. According to them, Prince William's wife rarely speaks or comments on issues, unlike her husband.

Prince William is frank and would often speak his mind even on matters like family woes. However, Middleton doesn't go there.

The duchess is "150 percent more reserved than William," an unnamed friend told Nikkhah.

The insider added that the closest reaction they had from Middleton about Meghan Markle was when she jokingly rolled her eyes at the mention of the former actress' legal drama Suits.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. During the bombshell tell-all, Markle cleared the air about the rumors that she made Kate Middleton cry.
Markle said, "the reverse happened." Apparently, it was Middleton who allegedly made her cry.

The future queen consort reacted differently, according to insiders. Instead of stamping her feet and demanding to release a statement to defend her name, she thought of her husband, Prince William, who was also affected by the interview.

"In the days after the interview, her priority was William, not how she felt about what Harry and Meghan had done," an unnamed source told Nikkhah. "She has focused on personal support for William in what has been a really sad time in his life. She never predicted the degree of falling out between them."

Meanwhile, another anonymous insider claimed that Middleton never spoke about the issue. However, they allegedly heard a different version from Markle.

"I’ve had hundreds of hours of conversations with her [Kate] and it never came up. I only ever heard from Meghan about that — a very different story from what she said to Oprah," an unnamed source said.

Despite the rumored falling out between the Cambridges and Sussexes, some sources claimed that Middleton and Markle's relationship has since improved after baby Lili's arrival.

The Duke of Sussex has been doing media appearances to promote his book Spare. However, one report claims that he had accused the Princess of Wales of stereotyping his wife.

In his interview with ITV's Tom Bradby, Prince Harry claimed that Middleton stereotyped the former Suits star for being an American actress, divorced and biracial. He alleged that t prevented the royal family from "welcoming her [Markle] in."

"Well, American actress, divorced, biracial, there's – there's all different parts to that and what that can mean, but if you are, like a lot of my family do, if you are reading the Press, the British tabloids, at the same time as living the life, then there is a tendency where you could actually end up living in the tabloid bubble rather than the actual reality," he said, Daily Mail reported.

Bradby reminded Prince Harry that he once said Middleton was the "sister you never had." Middleton and Prince Harry got along really well after Prince William introduced them to each other. The dynamics only changed when Megan Markle joined the picture.

However, Prince Harry told Bradby that while being the Prince and Princess of Wales' third wheel was "fun," he sometimes felt "slightly awkward" about it.

Prince Harry was looking forward to finding the love of his life. He admitted that he was also considering the idea of the four of them working together. However, the idea of "fab four" reportedly sparked a competition between the two couples.

"The idea of the four of us being together was always a hope for me," Prince Harry said. "Before it was Meghan, whoever it was going to be, I always hoped that the four of us would get on."

Prince Harry said his brother did not dissuade him from marrying Markle. However, the heir to the throne reportedly aired some concerns, telling him it would be hard for him.

"Maybe he predicted what the British Press's reaction was going to be," Prince Harry said of Prince William.

Prince Harry shared many intimate incidents in his book involving Kate Middleton. He mentioned an "awkward moment" when Markle reportedly borrowed the Princess of Wales' lip gloss because she forgot hers. Middleton reportedly "grimaced" later.

He also said that Middleton and Markle had a fiery exchange over the bridesmaid dresses, and the Duchess of Cambridge had issues with Markle's wedding preparation. It reportedly left the bride-to-be "sobbing on the floor."

Prince William's brother also blamed the future king and queen consort for his controversial Nazi uniform at a 2005 costume party. According to him, they were the ones who chose it for him.

However, elsewhere in the book, he also praised Middleton saying she was "carefee, sweet, kind." Prince Harry also said he wanted to make her laugh and he was hopeful of laughing more with her.

"I liked seeing Kate laugh. Better yet, I liked making her laugh. And I was quite good at it. My transparently silly side connected with her heavily disguised silly side," Prince Harry wrote.
