Adidas Signs College Football Star Travis Hunter
Heisman hopeful Travis Hunter is now team Three Stripes.
On Thursday, Adidas announced it has signed the college football superstar. With the deal, the athletic giant stated Hunter, a standout at the University of Colorado, will represent Adidas both on and off the field and participate in its marketing campaigns.
What’s more, Adidas will launch a limited-edition apparel collection Thursday, available via Adidas.com/us/travis_hunter.
“Working with Adidas is a special opportunity for me and something that I’m really excited about as I look ahead to what’s next,” Hunter said in a statement. “The partners they currently have are top tier with some of the best young guys like me. I’m pumped to join the three stripes as we continue pushing the boundaries of the sport we all love.”
Hunter is a finalist for this year’s Heisman Trophy, which is given to the country’s most outstanding college football player. He will be honored alongside Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, who is also an Adidas partner.
The 2024 Heisman Trophy ceremony will air live via ESPN on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
Hunter is now part of an ambassador roster that includes several other football stars, such as Patrick Mahomes, Micah Parsons, Tua Tagovailoa and several others.
“As part of our continued investment in the next generation of athletes, we’re proud to partner with someone whose passion for sport and drive to create impact on and off the field mirrors our own,” Aaron Seabron, Adidas general manager of U.S. sports and creation center Portland, said in a statement. “Travis is undeniably one of the most dynamic athletes in any sport, and we’re excited to collaborate with him and celebrate all that he accomplishes as he transitions into the next phase of what promises to be a long and successful career.”
Hunter is one of the rare two-way players in football, and during the 2024 regular season, he was on the field for 672 offensive and 688 defensive snaps. Aside from his Heisman Trophy finalist nod, the athlete was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and won the Lott Impact Trophy, which is awarded to the top defensive player in college football who excels both on and off the field.
Hunter is also a finalist for the Maxwell Award, which is given to the most outstanding player in the sport, as well as the Chuck Bednarik Award for the country’s top defensive player and the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the season’s most outstanding receiver.
