K-State basketball player 'departs' from team
MANHATTAN (KSNT) - For the second-straight season, K-State men's basketball has lost a member of its roster in the middle of the year.
The Wildcats announced Wednesday senior wing Achor Achor "has left the Kansas State men's basketball team for personal reasons", according to a news release from Tom Gilbert, K-State Athletics Director for Men's Basketball Communications.
Achor averaged 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in Manhattan, playing in seven of the Wildcats' nine games. Achor transferred to K-State for his final season of basketball after his two most recent seasons at Samford.
“Achor and I have decided that there are more important things than basketball for him at this time,” head coach Jerome Tang said in a press release. “I hope some time away will allow him to reprioritize things in his life and allow him to finish his degree. We wish him well. My focus is always to help young men become the best version of themselves and to help K-State become an elite program. We are developing men who will be great husbands and fathers.”
Unlike former Wildcat Nae'Qwan Tomlin's dismissal at the beginning of the 2023 season, we do not yet know any over-arching circumstances behind Achor's departure.
