'Santa-like antics': Man fleeing down chimney to avoid arrest reportedly becomes stuck
A Massachusetts man tried to flee down a chimney to evade capture on drug charges, WCVB reported Wednesday — and was foiled when his "Santa-like antics" got him stuck.
The incident unfolded when detectives searched a home in Fall River, prompting two people, Robert Langlias and Tanisha Ibay, to try to flee onto the rooftops, according to the report. Ibay jumped off the roof onto a vehicle to try to flee — but Langlias reportedly tried to conceal himself in a more holiday-themed manner.
"(One man) invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney," said officers in a statement. "(He) quickly became stuck in the chimney and required the assistance of the very detectives he was previously fleeing."

Both people were charged with drug possession, and Langlias also had several outstanding warrants.
The holiday season often results in unusual types of criminal complaints. In 2018, an anti-LGBTQ extremist in Texas was arrested after storming a "Breakfast with Santa" event for underprivileged kids at a local church to tell everyone gathered there Santa Claus wasn't real.
