Drew Seeley Reveals Why He Thinks Vanessa Hudgens Resented Him on 'High School Musical' Concert Tour
Drew Seeley is opening up about his time on the High School Musical in 2006-2007.
The entertainer hit the road with the cast of the Disney Channel Original Movie, performing as Troy Bolton, as Zac Efron was off filming Hairspray.
If you didn’t know, Drew also provided vocal tracks for Troy in the first movie as Zac‘s voice wasn’t able to sing the songs properly at the time.
During an appearance on the Magical Rewind podcast, Drew opened up about being on the tour and why he thinks Vanessa Hudgens resented him for joining the tour.

“I hit it off with them,” Drew said about the rest of the cast. “They were so lovely.”
He added, “I do think Vanessa resented it a little bit when I was on tour because she was like, ‘I wanna sing to my boyfriend every night, not this guy.’”
Zac and Vanessa famously hit it off while filming the first movie and dated for several years until they broke up in 2010.
On the podcast, Drew also talked about recording songs for Troy prior to the movie filming.
“I was never told why they did it the way that they did it,” he dished. “But I think that they were within about three, four weeks of shooting the actual film, and they had me and not Zac. Me and the rest of the movie cast all go into the studio for, like, four days straight and record all the songs together. So, yeah, I knew that I was doing that.”
While Drew sang the music in the first High School Musical, Zac did all of his own singing as Troy for the next two.
