State Police are searching for a missing hiker in Essex County. Also, there was a body found near Patroon Island Bridge in Rensselaer on Tuesday. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Wednesday.
1. State police searching for hiker missing near Newcomb
New York State Police announced a search is underway for a hiker who was reported missing out of Essex County. Leo Dufour, 22, of Vaudreuil, Quebec, was last seen on November 30.
2. Body found near Patroon Island Bridge in Rensselaer
New York State Police confirmed that a body was located near the Patroon Island Bridge in Rensselaer on Tuesday morning. Employees of the Department of Transportation reported finding the body on I-90, just east of the bridge.
3. First Chick-fil-A in Albany opens on Thursday
A new Chick-fil-A is coming to the Capital Region with the first one in Albany opening on Thursday. The restaurant will be at 944 Central Avenue with dine-in, carryout, and drive-thru options from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
4. Bennington Police honor K-9 Gracie with training yard dedication
Bennington Police Department’s K-9 Gracie will be uniquely remembered throughout South Vermont. The police department plans on building a K-9 training yard, dedicated in Gracie’s name, the department announced Sunday.
5. Albany-Saratoga Speedway development project stalled
Plans to bring hundreds of new apartments to Saratoga County are on hold after the Malta Town Board voted to table the idea.
