Warriors vs. Nuggets injury report
The full injury report for Tuesday’s NBA Cup game between Golden State and Denver.
After falling just short on Saturday against the Phoenix Suns, the Golden State Warriors will try to get back in the win column tonight and stop the bleeding of a four-game losing streak. It’s also Golden State’s final game in the group stage of the Emirates NBA Cup, though the Dubs have already clinched the West Group C.
Neither team is at full health, but the Warriors seem to be more compromised than the Nuggets. Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Draymond Green (left calf tightness)
Over the two off days, concern mounted that Green wouldn’t be able to play in this game, and on Tuesday he was officially ruled out. It will be the first game that the All-Star has missed this season.
Out — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL sprain)
No news on the Melton front. He’s out for the year and the Warriors will certainly consider using his contract in a trade, but they can’t yet.
Probable — Steph Curry (bilateral knee patellofemoral pain)
After missing a game last week, Curry returned on Saturday, though he looked compromised, at least in the first half of the game. He looks like he should be good to play tonight, and hopefully he’s moving well.
Nuggets
Out — Vlatko Čančar (left knee sprain)
It’s been a bummer of a few years for Čančar. He missed the entirety of the 2023-24 season with an injury, and has only played in four games this year. He has no timetable to return, sadly.
Out — DaRon Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair)
Also a bummer of a year for Holmes, who tore his Achilles shortly after the Nuggets selected him in the first round of the 2024 Draft. He’ll have to wait until next season to make his NBA debut.
Probable — Aaron Gordon (right calf strain)
A calf injury cost Gordon 10 straight games in November, but he made his return to the court on Sunday, coming off the bench. Denver certainly hopes the ultra-athletic Bay Area native can stay on the court for the rest of the year.
Probable — Peyton Watson (right adductor strain)
Watson has turned into a key contributor for the Nuggets in his third NBA season. He’s played in all 18 of the team’s games, and started 11 of them, while averaging a career-high 9.9 points per game.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
