How Topekans are celebrating Black Friday
TOPEKA (KSNT) - It's the season of gifts, giving and deals as shoppers hit the stores for Black Friday.
27 News was out bright and early at West Ridge Plaza in west Topeka to hear how shoppers are taking advantage of the holiday.
"I think we got up at around like 6:30 and we started shopping at around 7:00 a.m," shopper Camden Olsen, of Topeka, said. "We got breakfast at Milk and Honey then went to Academy. It was very crowded."
Olsen tells 27 News that he waited roughly 20 minutes in line outside of Academy before he got inside.
He wasn't the only one who had to wait in line. Mother and daughter Carly and Connie also experienced long shopping lines this morning.
"At Kohls the line was nearly all the way to the back of the building," Carly said. "We've been shopping since around 5:30 this morning," Connie added.
