Side of fog with Portland's turkey Thursday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Morning fog remains as clear, calm and cold conditions return to the Pacific Northwest Thursday morning.
Morning fog will reduce visibility for some along the Willamette Valley and lower elevations of the Coast Range and Cascades. Early morning temperatures will fall close to freezing Thanksgiving morning. That's where frosty conditions are possible across western Oregon and southwest Washington.
Fog will start to mix out of the region by the mid-morning hours with improving visibility. That's where the fog will transition to mostly cloudy skies by midday. More breaks in the clouds will allow the sun to return through the afternoon hours.
Afternoon temperatures will warm into the mid-40s. Winds will remain calm as an Air Stagnation Advisory remains in place through the start of next week. Air quality could fall for some in western Oregon and southwest Washington.
Black Friday shoppers can expect a foggy start to the early morning deals as more sunshine returns to the region. A stray raindrop or two is possible before sunrise, but sunnier conditions are expected by the afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to remain chilly with both early morning lows and afternoon highs. A gradual warming trend gets underway as skies remain rain-free. The next round of Pacific Northwest moisture isn't expected until late next week.
