Spurs and Arsenal are watching the same Ivory Coast starlet – Journalist
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a young starlet, who is making a name for himself in Swedish football.
Tottenham alive to young talents in Swedish football
We know that Spurs and their network of scouts are keeping an eye on the best-emerging talent in the Swedish league, with the Lilywhites securing Lucas Bergvall earlier this year.
It has now emerged that the North London club have their eyes on another 18-year-old who is turning a lot of heads in the Allsvenskan.
The player in question is Hammarby starlet Bazoumana Toure, who has nine goals and four assists to his name so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Tottenham facing competition for Bazoumana Toure
This update comes from Florian Plettenberg, who has taken to social media to reveal that Spurs are not alone in their admiration for the Ivorian winger.
He reveals that Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Wolfsburg have also expressed interest in the teenager ahead of the January.
Plettenberg states that Toure’s situation is ‘one to watch’ over the next couple of transfer windows.
Tottenham need another winger
With Wilson Odobert out with a long-term injury and with Dejan Kulusevski having moved to the middle, Spurs are in desperate need of another winger.
Ange Postecoglou would ideally want someone who is adept at playing on the right, with Brennan Johnson lacking competition for his place in the side at the moment.
While Bazoumana Toure can play on the right, he primarily operates on the left wing for Hammarby, which is why the youngster might not be the right fit.
However, Tottenham might view the 18-year-old as one for the future like Bergvall rather than as someone who can strengthen their starting eleven right now.
