Getafe and Sevilla could both fight to sign Tottenham defender
A La Liga club are concerned about losing out on one Tottenham man after a fellow Spanish side entered the race for the player.
Sergio Reguilon has no future at Tottenham
It is clear that Sergio Reguilon‘s time at Tottenham is about to come to an end, with the left-back not making the matchday squad on a single occasion this season.
It came as a surprise to many when he stayed put in the summer and it seems inevitable that he will leave N17 in the January window.
Over the last few weeks, various Spanish outlets have claimed that Sevilla, where the Spurs man spent the 2019-20 season on loan, are keen on re-signing the player (Ficherio).
Seville concerned about competition for Reguilon
Sevilla’s interest in Reguilon has now been backed up by Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who say that the Andalusian club are keen on bringing the left-back to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
However, it is explained that the club face one ‘main problem’, which is that others are also showing interest in taking Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.
The outlet adds that over recent days, Getafe have tested the waters over a move for the former Real Madrid defender and are now considering entering the race for his signature, thus complicating matters for Sevilla.
Will Tottenham get a transfer fee for Reguilon?
The increased competition for Reguilon’s signature will be welcomed by Tottenham as it offers them an opportunity to get a decent fee.
However, it was reported by CaughtOffside earlier this month that the 27-year-old wants to terminate his deal and leave on a free transfer in January.
The outlet claimed that Spurs are open to paying off the final six months of the defender’s deal as they are keen to get him off their wage bill.
