‘Lovely church worker’ stabbed on doorstep attack on affluent London street
An ‘energetic and lovely’ local youth worker from a churchgoing family was stabbed on her doorstep, friends revealed today.
The woman in her 40s suffered two stab wounds in the incident in St James’s Lane on Wednesday.
Police have said a 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Another youth worker, 23, told Metro: ‘I am absolutely in shock. She’s a lovely woman she set up a youth club at the local centre.
‘She is great with kids, absolutely lovely and very energetic. I can’t see how anyone could want to hurt her.
‘She does so much for the community.’
Another youth worker, 22, said. ‘She set up a club on a Fridays for the kids, she is loved.’
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 8pm last night after reports of an assault.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police and crews from the London Ambulance Service arrived to find the woman suffering from stab injuries.

She was rushed to the hospital, where her injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
A teenage boy was arrested at the scene. Footage taken shows the boy being put into the back of a police van before being driven away.
The Met said he was taken into police custody, where he remains at this time.
Forensics officers were on the scene today as detectives teal through CCTV from around the area.
Chester O’Field, 61, told Metro: ‘She and the family go to James’s Church. The nicest person it could ever have happened to. She raised people’s spirits every where she went. Just a lovely lady. You pray she’s ok.’

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at 8.04pm on Wednesday, 27 November to reports of an assault on St James’s Lane, Muswell Hill.
‘Officers attended and found a woman, aged in her 40s, with stab injuries. Her injuries are not life threatening.
‘A male in his teens was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
‘He was taken into custody where he remains.’
