I am so sorry to have disappointed all those people who were going to come and see me in Exeter and Truro and Bath and Nottingham.”
He revealed that his health took a sudden turn on Friday afternoon.
The TV personality continued: “I was rushed to A&E. I was kept in at the hospital over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and had to have drips and all the rest of it.”
Now Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy, 64, has taken to the comments on Monty’s post to wish him a speedy recovery.
Jeremy, who has had his own health issues in recent weeks, wrote: “Stay well.”
The former Grand Tour presenter revealed he had undergone life-saving heart surgery last month.
Jeremy explained he was days from death before surgery to clear blocked arteries.
He told how doctors ordered him to change his lifestyle, insisting: “I am not allowed to have fun anymore. I must live in a holier-than-though fog of weeds, seeds and yoga. This is terrifying.”
But Jezza went on: “When the Grim Reaper poked his nose round the door, I decided that actually, I quite fancied living a little bit longer.
“I want to see my grandchildren grow up. I saw the dawn this morning and it was magnificent so I’d quite like to see a few more of those too.
“Also, I still want to visit the Galapagos Islands. To achieve this, I must live on water and steamed fish and exercise.”
Meanwhile, Monty reassured fans that his condition is improving and that he is now recovering at home.
He said: “I came home last night, and I’m feeling much better. I’m going to spend the next few days quietly recuperating here at home and hopefully by the weekend I’ll be back to full fitness.”
