The stores with the largest discounts on Black Friday this year
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A new report has revealed the stores that will offer the highest discounts on Black Friday this year.
Personal finance company WalletHub analyzed more than 4,300 deals from the 13 largest American retailers’ Black Friday ads. The website calculated the average discount each retailer plans to offer, weighting it based on the original price to give more credit to stores marking down expensive items.
“The best Black Friday deals can save you up to 88% this year, but when you’re bombarded by ads and there are so many places to shop, it can be hard to decide where to actually spend your money,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. “Knowing which retailers actually offer significant deals compared to their normal prices can save you a lot of time and prevent buyer’s remorse.”
JCPenney was named as the retailer that will offer the highest discounts this Black Friday. The store has an average discount of 76.2%, according to WalletHub. This is the fourth time the retailer has earned the top spot in WalletHub’s annual Black Friday report since 2014, thanks to the store’s “great” deals on appliances, jewelry and apparel.
The chain with the second-best Black Friday deals is Belk. The department store only has locations in 16 states, not including Ohio, but offers online shopping. Belk has an average discount of 72.7%, offering deals on jewelry, apparel, TVs, digital cameras and other electronics.
Taking third place is Macy’s, with an average discount of 57.1%. The store’s best deals will be on jewelry, followed by furniture. The website also found which companies will offer the best discounts for different categories, which can be found below.
