Grantchester newcomer Rishi Nair shares major update on hit ITV drama after one series

Fans have been ecstatic to know Rishi isn’t leaving the series and that a new one will be on screens next year.
One fan commented: “Awesome! Looking forward to the next instalment.”
Another added: “Waiting with great anticipation!”
The new series will see Rishi team up again with Robson Green, who portrays Geordie Keating.
The tenth series is also set to feature returning favourites including Al Weaver, Tessa Peake-Jones, Kacey Ainsworth, Oliver Dimsdale, Nick Brimble, Bradley Hall and Melissa Johns.
The plot for the tenth series is being kept firmly under wraps but Rishi has hinted about what could be in store.
Speaking with PBS, Rishi revealed: “In terms of Alphy, we’ve seen him as a very happy-go-lucky, glass-half-full kind of guy, very confident and up for every challenge.
“But I think in Season 10, we’ll start to unravel some of the secrets that he’s been hiding and we get to know Alphy maybe for the man who he really is, rather than the man that he presents to the world.”
Star Robson Green, who has been part of the series since it began, revealed recently: “The relationship with Alphy and Geordie will progress into something extraordinarily beautiful and hopefully, life-changing in terms of cultural acceptance of the melting pot that is the beauty of this country.
“The acceptance of—irrespective of what land you’re from or where you’re from—who you are.
“It’s just about your character, not the colour of your skin.”
Filming on the new series of Grantchester commenced in July, with stars keeping fans updated with behind the scenes snippets from filming on social media.
Grantchester is available to stream on ITVX.
