Diddy, who was arrested back in September, asked to be released on a $50 million bond. His legal team outlined his plans if he was released, saying that he would live in his apartment in New York city with 24/7 armed security, would only be allowed to call his attorneys, and have visitation from pre-approved family members.
The prosecutors argued that Diddy could not be trusted outside of prison, saying that he’s already tried to interfere with their ongoing probe by contacting potential witnesses from behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Judge Subramanian agreed with the prosecutors, saying that “there is evidence supporting a serious risk of witness tampering.”
He also referenced the 2016 video of Diddy beating up then-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway as “direct evidence of Combs’ violence.”
After his arrest in September, Diddy was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He maintains his innocence against all charges.
He is expected to go to trial in May 2025.
If you missed it, Diddy‘s six children released a statement showing their support for their father following his arrest.
