Jon Heyman and Mark W. Sanchez reported in the New York Post that the Red Sox are “seen as a legitimate contender” for Juan Soto. Their sources say Boston is actively trying to sell to the slugger how well he’d fit with the team. Specifically, the outfielder is a natural match for Fenway Park and the short Green Monster, especially since Soto has never been known for having the greatest range in the outfield.

The offers presented to Soto are unlikely to be accepted at this time, as they were part of a “preliminary” round of bidding intended to gauge interest, as Brendon Kuty of The Athletic tweeted. The offers made in the coming weeks are expected to be more telling, according to Kuty.
Korean second baseman Hyeseong Kim says that the posting process will begin after Thanksgiving, according to Yonhap News’ Jeeho Yoo. Moreover, Kim’s KBO team, the Kiwoom Heroes, are expected to announce his posting next week. Kim is 25, so he is eligible to sign a full major league deal. MLB Trade Rumors predict the contact hitter would sign a three-year deal worth $24 million.
The Seattle Mariners signed veteran southpaw Drew Pomeranz to a minor league deal, reports Just Baseball’s Aram Leighton. Pomeranz hasn’t appeared in a big league game since 2021, but that year he pitched to a 1.75 ERA in 25 2/3 innings pitched. Unfortunately, he’s struggled in the minors since then, posting an ugly 8.84 ERA in 19 1/3 innings pitched across 2022-24.
According to Kiley McDaniel of ESPN, former Arizona Diamondback Jon Duplantier has reached an agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers on a minor league deal. The righty reliever tossed 55 2/3 innings this year across time with the Mets and Dodgers Triple-A teams.
Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net tweeted that the Doosan Bears have signed Jake Cave to a contract that in total is worth $1 million for 2025. Cave logged 346 plate appearances and hit .251/.290/.396 with the Rockies last year.
