Fireman, 39, ‘had sex with teen in his car after meeting her at school open day when she was 13’
A FIREMAN had sex with a teen girl in his car after meeting her at a school open day when she was 13, a court heard.
Scott Cameron allegedly told the girl she was “gorgeous” and asked her to send naked pictures before arranging a meeting in woodland.
The dad-of-two, 39, had met the alleged victim at a recruitment drive at her school when she was 13.
She later went with a friend to drop off a card at the fire station as a thank you to the crew.
Jurors heard Cameron somehow got hold of her number and began messaging the girl while pretending to be a colleague she had taken a shine to.
Around a month later, he allegedly began asking her for photos – including pictures of her in a bikini from holiday.
Liverpool Crown Court was told she ended up sending some “partially dressed” images but the firefighter demanded more.
Prosecutor Steven Ball said: “These requests became more persistent. They turned into threats.
“The defendant, say the prosecution, was saying to her things like he was going to stop talking to her if she did not send ‘proper ones’ and that the pictures were going to get sent around. He even offered to pay her for photographs.”
Around ten months later, Cameron told her who he actually was and asked to meet her in woodland.
The court heard she told him she was only 13 but this did not “put him off”.
Instead, the “intensity and frequency” of their messages and meetings showed Cameron “certainly could not resist”, it was said.
The pair allegedly began meeting up regularly and on one occasion had sex in his car.
Jurors were told the girl eventually deleted Cameron’s number after he became “argumentative” in his messages.
Cameron – who was based at Crosby Fire Station – was later arrested after the alarm was raised.
He told officers was approached by the girl, who claimed she was a sixth form student, after she recognised him from the school visit.
Cameron claimed “nothing sexual had happened” but admitted he had been “sent some pictures which he did not request and deleted straight away”.
But he later confessed to having sex with the girl – although he claimed he believed she was 16 at the time.
Mr Ball said: “The prosecution say that this was not a one-off or chance meeting where a single mistake could be made, but this is a case which is the chronicle of a man exercising his own choices, who knew exactly what he was doing and using all of his wider gained experiences as an adult to exploit an impressionable and obliging 13 or 14-year-old, a young girl who was the object of his attention.”
Cameron denies a total of 11 sexual offences and the trial continues.
