TESCO is getting ready for a mega Black Friday, slashing the prices of everything from coffee machines to booze.
The sales event will officially kick off on Friday, but the homeware retailer has already begun rolling out some deals to shoppers.
The supermarket is slashing its prices to celebrate Black Friday[/caption]Black Friday – which takes place this Friday November 29- has become a huge hit with UK shoppers despite being originally founded in the US.
The event sees retailers cut their prices to give customers a chance to grab a bargain ahead of Christmas.
However, you should always shop around for the best possible deal, as there is a chance you can find it cheaper elsewhere.
You should also only buy something if you were planning to and not just because it has been reduced.
Tesco will reduce the price of over 50 items, with some items being cut by almost 70%.
That includes a Joie Roomie Glide Co-Sleeping Crib which has been cut from £160 to £50.
The product is only available to buy in stores and customers must have their Clubcard on hand to make the savings.
Elsewhere, those looking to stock up their Christmas liquor cabinet on a budget can already pick up one litre bottle of Baileys for £10.
The creamy delight can cost up to £22 if you buy it at full price.
Tesco will run the deal until December 9, so shoppers have about two weeks to make the most of the offer.
Again you need your Clubcard to get this discount.
Chocolate lovers also have a chance to get their hands on a selection of Christmas tubs.
Quality Street, Cadbury‘s Roses and Heros will all be reduced from £6 to £4.50.
The offer will be available until December 3 and give customers to the chance to save around 25% on the festive treats.
Tesco has already cut the prices of tubs this year, reducing them to as much as £3.50 in October.
It is always worth keeping an eye on what other supermarkets are doing when it comes to Christmas chocolates to make sure you are not missing out on a bargain.
What can I get with Tesco Clubcard?
TESCO'S Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop.
These points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food at the supermarket, or discounts at other places like restaurants and days out.
Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your Clubcard.
Drivers using the loyalty card get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.
One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 money-off voucher, for example.
You can double their worth when you swap them for discounts with “reward partners”.
For example, £12 worth of vouchers can be swapped for a £24 three-month subscription to Disney+.
Or you can swap 50p worth of points for £1 to spend at Hungry Horse pubs.
Where you can spend them changes regularly, and you can check on the Tesco website what’s available now.
Tesco shoppers can also get Clubcard prices when they have the loyalty card.
The discounted items change regularly and without a Clubcard you’ll pay a higher price.
These Clubcard prices are usually labelled on shelves, along with the non-member price.
But it’s worth noting that just because it’s discounted doesn’t necessarily make it the cheapest around, and you should compare prices to find the best deal.
You can sign up to get a Tesco Clubcard in store or online via the Tesco website.
Last week, Morrisons said it customers could pay £2 for the tubs if they spent £45 or more in-store.
However, the deal ended last Thursday.
Elsewhere at Tesco, customers can grab a Nescafé Dolce Gusto Picollo Coffee Machine for £28 come Friday, marked down from
The offer ends on December 2 and it is only available in Tesco stores.
You can find your nearest Tesco by visiting this website, https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/
What are other retailers doing for Black Friday?
Dunelm has launched a 75% sale on Black Friday.
The homeware retailer has cut the price of everything from home blinds to Christmas decorations.
Sainsbury’s has also kicked off the shopping event early by cutting the price of skincare and beauty products by up to 50%.
However, the discounts are only available to Nectar cardholders.
The Sun has a Black Friday live blog which you can check out here, to help stay on top of deals as they come in.
How to shop around for the best bargain
When hunting for a deal it is important to shop around to make sure you are not being overcharged.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets.
Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
