Chillicothe teen, 18, killed in Clinton County crash
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Chillicothe teenager is dead after a crash in Clinton County Tuesday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the two-vehicle crash happened on Interstate 71 near U.S. Route 68 in Clinton County at approximately 6 p.m.
A 2017 Subaru Legacy was driving south on I-71 when it hit a 2022 Ram pickup truck, police said. The impact sent the Subaru into the median and the pickup truck into the right lane.
A passenger in the Subaru, Makell Rhinehart, 18, of Chillicothe, was taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Subaru, a 21-year-old Chillicothe man, was taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital for treatment. None of the occupants in the pickup truck were injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office, Wilmington Fire and EMS, and Port William EMS.
