Holiday travel reminders when crossing the northern border
BUFFALO, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection is helping prepare travelers for the upcoming holiday traffic. The agency is expecting an increase in border traffic and is reminding travelers who are planning trips across all New York State land border crossings to anticipate some delays and plan accordingly.
The agency suggests having your approved travel documents ready, check border wait times, and if possible, travel during non-peak times. Peak travel times typically fall between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. the hours of 10:00am and 6:00pm.
To avoid fines and penalties for importing restricted or prohibited items, visit the Customs and Borders website.
