Brush fire on Delaware Turnpike causes power outages
EAST BERNE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A downed power line caused a brush fire on the Delaware Turnpike Tuesday. The Berne Fire District said a tree came down in the woods, took down a power line, set a tree on fire, and sparked a brush fire.
The power line was burning about 100 feet from a barn and a garage. National Grid shut off the power, and Berne and East Berne firefighters put out the flames.
National Grid said power is expected to be restored at 3 a.m. Wednesday.
