A source said: “It would have seen five actresses taking on the roles of Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby.
“The venture would have landed them all pay deals of around £1million for essentially not lifting a finger.
“But as the negotiations ramped up, the others were told Geri had objected.
“The plans have basically been thrown out.
“They wanted to have the agreement of all of the band and without Geri it’s hard to make it happen.”
Talks took place with Left Bank Pictures, the firm behind Netflix hit The Crown.
But insiders said the plans fell through this summer, when Geri mentioned the possibility of working on her own TV show.
Last month, a source revealed she and F1 boss husband Christian Horner were being followed by a camera crew in LA.
Geri left the Spice Girls in 1998 — a couple of years after debut single Wannabe — before rejoining for two tours.
She, Victoria Beckham, Mels B and C, and Emma Bunton have not performed together on stage since the 2012 London Olympics.
They were last reunited for Victoria’s 50th birthday this summer.
But insiders said there was tension between Geri and Mel B.
