‘Real reason’ Dean McCullough signed up for I’m A Celeb revealed by Radio 1 co-star as she defends Alan Halsall clasH
DEAN McCullough’s Radio One colleague has joked he signed up for I’m A Celebrity for a lie-in.
The early breakfast presenter faced backlash over his clash with Coronation Street star Alan Halshall who had woken him from a nap.

Danni exclusively told The Sun: “I have never really experienced a grumpy Dean so I’m lucky in that sense. I don’t think he’s a very grumpy man.
“He does early breakfast and you have to be quite up and on it to do earlies.
“You know, you’re starting at 5am every day so I think it comes down to when you’re tired, and you haven’t eaten, sometimes there’s going to be a bit of back and forth between two people.”
Danni added: “Jokes aside he is tired. He does have to get up early every morning.
“I did think in my head he’s probably having a bit of a lie in out there.
“He’ll just be enjoying it because if anything he’ll get more rest than he does now.”
Loose Women panellist Jane Moore was left to collect firewood alone
Corrie actor Alan and Radio 1 DJ Dean came to blows after a heated bust-up over waking him up to help with the camp chores.
Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, attempted to wake Dean, but the presenter barely moved.
Alan asked: “You don’t fancy it? No?” before walking off to help Jane himself.
Dean eventually joined the pair but wasn’t pleased with Alan’s earlier approach.
He squared up to him: “Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright?
“So you don’t need to turn around to me and say, ‘Do you not fancy it, OK?’ And then turn around and walk away.”
Alan responded: “I’ve listened to you. Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went.”
From January, Danni is moving to a new slot on BBC Radio One with her co-host Sam MacGregor.
Sam and Danni, who previously held the Weekend Breakfast slot, will now host an afternoon show that runs from Friday to Sunday, 1-4pm.
