Strictly star insists judges scored Chris McCausland ‘wildly high’ and he should have been BOTTOM of the leaderboard
A FORMER Strictly star has insisted the judges scored Chris McCausland “wildly high” over the weekend.
Saturday night’s Strictly saw comedian Chris and Diane Buswell peformed the Paso Doble.
Craig Revel Horwood scored them seven while Motsi Mabuse gave them eight.
Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke each marked Chris and Dianne nine.
Strictly fans were left outraged on Sunday night when favourite Jamie Borthwick was eliminated from the competition, with many insisting either Chris or Pete Wicks should have left.
Now ex-pro Brendan Cole has waded into the row and insisted Chris was overscored by the judges.
He said: “[The judges’ scoring this week was] fairly high. Chris was getting nines – it was a very average Paso Doble.
“[It was] probably the worst in the series so far, and they’re making out like it was the most amazing number they’ve seen.”
Love Island star Tasha Ghouri landed the first perfect score of the series on Saturday, but Brendan – who was axed from the show in 2018 – continued: “There was a lot of overmarking.
“I personally wouldn’t have even given Tasha a ten [this weekend].
“I would have given it to her before, as I thought the start of their routine was a bit weird.
“I saw a couple of things that weren’t perfect. There were missing little feet closes that got missed, turned out feet when they weren’t supposed to be – those little things that make a difference.”
Brendan added: “I’ve always thought the scoring was overmarked. If I was a judge, I’d be marking somewhere around where Craig marks and probably even lower.”
