Merrick Garland and his 'Justice' Department should never be forgiven
I have been alive long enough to see presidents shot dead in the street, civil rights leaders gunned down in their hotel rooms and horrible, horrible wars started on the wretched basis of disgusting lies. But of all the things I have seen in my long life, nothing compares to Wednesday, January 6th, 2021.
On that day ... a terrible, singular day that is burned into our hearts and minds, an evil, broken sociopath who had been voted out of power by the citizens of the United States of America did everything he could to hold onto that power and set the match that led to the most gruesome internal attack on this country since the Civil War.
And when that attack was at full boil, the entire world watching with horror, the President of the United States, the son of a b---- who triggered it, did nothing to stop it for more than three hours.
Instead, he hoped that it would prevail.
Even the monster’s ghastly family begged him to call off his rabid dogs, while brave, overmatched police officers were stomped into the pavement and beaten with American flags -- FLAGS!
Members of Congress -- Republicans and Democrats -- ran for their lives. The monster’s vice president was whisked away by the Secret Service so as not to be hanged.
Finally, after nearly 200 minutes of doing nothing but root for its success, we know that the America-attacking Trump finally relented and tried to quiet all the dark voices that live inside his fat head. We know he pushed himself away from his TV in the White House dining room, where he was watching his attack unfold, and huffed and puffed his way to the White House lawn, where he recorded a message to the nation in which he ordered his fascist thugs to go home — but not before telling them that he loved them.
This foul, disgusting man told the people who took a hammer to our country and killed and beat on cops that he f------ loved them ...
Once these gruesome thugs got the orders from General Mayhem to disperse, they packed away their ropes, flags, pepper spray, zip ties and radios into their duffle bags and hightailed it the hell out of town …
Again: On January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump attacked our country and tried to incinerate our votes to remain in power. Fake electors were lining up in states across our nation to overturn the election. Law enforcement officers were beaten to a pulp. He watched and did nothing.
It was appalling, and terrible, but at least — AT LEAST — there would be consequences, because NOBODY was going to get away with attacking the United States of America without facing severe consequences.
And, hell, it would be the easiest case ever to make. Hundreds of millions of people watched it unfold, after all.
Unless your Attorney General is Merrick Garland.
Instead of moving with alacrity after his appointment to AG, while the political winds were at his back, and leveling the full weight of the law against the disgusting traitor, Garland apparently decided to avoid the whole thing like Trump avoids vegetables.
It got so bad that Garland was forced out of hiding by the press and many House Democrats 18 MONTHS following the attack on America to give any indication he was moving on Trump and the so-called lawmakers who provided cover and aided in the breathtaking assault.
Finally, while everybody leaned in close during a July 20th, 2022 news conference, the quiet man said in an emphatic whisper that “no person is above the law” before he presumably returned to his cave for hibernation.
So we all got back to waiting. That’s when I began to fret nothing would happen …
Finally, on November 18, 2022, nearly two years after the attack on America, Garland, the alleged three-dimensional chess-playing, grandmaster law-and-order expert carefully considered the board, and deftly put himself in check by pawning off his responsibility to somebody else.
After Trump did the most predictable thing ever by announcing his crooked run for president to avoid prosecution, the pathetic Garland appointed a special counsel named Jack Smith to handle things.
It is impossible to believe that Garland was the only person in America who didn’t think Trump would run again, especially if it meant the possibility of saving his two-ton a--. So why did he wait 22 months until Trump made his run “official” to abruptly change course and appoint a special counsel?
I have come to the grudging conclusion that Joe Biden was at least initially not much interested in seeing Trump prosecuted for his myriad crimes. There has been reporting indicating as much.
I am not saying that he was pumping the brakes on any investigations, but my hunch is he was hoping Trump’s political life would die a slow and natural death in the months following the 2020 election, and he could get to the vital work of gluing this shattered country back together again.
After all, this is what he ran on. It was an admirable notion until it became crystal clear in the weeks and months following the election that Trump was not going away and, in fact, would continue lobbing bombs at us, first from the White House and later, the safety of his country club in Florida.
The America-attacking Trump was a clear and present danger to our country and needed to be jailed for the rest of his miserable life.
We know now, Garland and Smith never laid a glove on him, and on November 5th, 2024, the America-attacking jackal was re-elected as the President of the United States of America.
Our worst nightmare had come to life.
On Monday we learned that our so-called “Justice” Department was abandoning the two criminal cases it took them forever to file against the most dangerous person in the world.
Less than three weeks after the most consequential election in American history, they waved the white flag of surrender. They were cutting and running. How appropriate for these weaklings.
It didn’t stop them from all their double-talking, however, which frankly I could have done without. I have heard enough from these appeasers forever. I just wish they'd get the hell out of our lives and stay there.
They have done enough damage to the United States of America.
Because no matter what kind of bulls--- they are lobbing at us now to explain their way out of the terrible mess they left us in, only one thing is true at this terrible moment in American history:
Justice delayed is justice denied.
