Hillsboro woman dies on motorized scooter after being struck by car
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Hillsboro woman died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a motorized scooter in Cornelius, Washington County officials announced Monday.
The victim was identified as 51-year-old Tammera Whisman.
Authorities say the crash took place on Tuesday, Nov. 19 just before 5 p.m.
"Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian in a motorized scooter and a vehicle near 2240 Baseline Street in Cornelius," officials said.
Responding medics pronounced the pedestrian, later identified as Whisman, dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No criminal charges have been filed, authorities said.
Deputies are asking witnesses of the crash to contact WCSO.
