Lyle Menendez’s Wife Rebecca Sneed Announces Separation After 21 Years of Marriage
The wife of convicted murderer Lyle Menendez has announced their separation after 21 years of marriage.
Rebecca Sneed, who married Lyle while he was in prison, announced their separation in a Facebook post.
In the post, Sneed wrote, “This is NOT a cheating scandal.”
She added, “Lyle and I have been separated for a while now but remain best friends and family.”
“I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Erik’s freedom, as has been so evident over the years,” added Sneed.
In 1996, Lyle Menendez and his brother Erik were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing their parents in 1989.

The wife of Lyle Menendez has announced their separation after more than 20 years of marriage.
Rebecca Sneed, Lyle’s second wife, made the announcement on a Facebook page bearing his name that she runs.
“This is NOT a cheating scandal,” Sneed wrote. “Lyle and I have been separated for a while now but remain best friends and family. I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Erik’s freedom, as has been so evident over the years.”
Menendez and Sneed have been married since 2003. NBC News reported at the time that the pair had known each other for 10 years.
The separation was announced weeks after Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon recommended that Lyle and Eric Menendez be released from prison.
Gascon’s recommendation to release the Menendez brothers comes after new evidence suggests their father, Jose Menendez, sexually abused them when they were children.
