Part of Camellia Blvd. to be closed Wednesday evening for Gleaux Run
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- If your commute takes you to Camellia Boulevard in Lafayette, you may want to map a different route on the way home Wednesday evening.
Lafayette Police have announced that they will close Camellia Boulevard from Johnston Street to Settlers Trace Boulevard starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The closure is to accomodate the annual Gleaux Run 5k run, a fundraiser for Miles Perret Cancer Services.
The road will remain closed for approximately 2.5 hours, until the event is completed, officials said.
Motorists traveling in the area between 5:30-8 p.m. should expect delays and are advised to seek alternative routes such as Pinhook Road, Ambassador Caffery Parkway or E. Broussard Road to cross the Vermilion River, police said.
