Virginia transfer Jalen Warley chooses Gonzaga
By SAM LANCE
Jalen Warley — a 6-foot-7 senior transfer guard from Virginia, has committed to Gonzaga, per multiple reports. Warley will redshirt and compete for Mark Few next season.
Warley entered the transfer portal after Tony Bennett announced his retirement as the head coach of Virginia in October. This is the second time he’s entered the portal in his career.
The former top-35 prospect out of high school will join the Bulldogs after three years at Florida State. Warley has not played a minute this season for Virginia. Last year at Florida State, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
Gonzaga will now redshirt two guards — Jalen Warley and Colgate transfer Braeden Smith — during the 2024-25 college basketball season.
