The biggest moments from Hollyoaks’ explosive winter trailer – including Ethan’s killer bombshell
HOLLYOAKS has released the new trailer for their upcoming winter storylines.
By the looks of things, events on the Channel 4 soap are set to be more explosive than ever.
Despite the smiles, Tony Hutchinson faces a huge crisis[/caption] Mercedes McQueen faces more hardship with her cancer treatment[/caption] Nancy Osborne is on the brink trying to keep her family together[/caption] Cleo conducts a plan to get away from her abuser Abe who has her trapped in a flat[/caption]At the first glance, the residents of Chester village look to have a wholesome Christmas.
Santa Jez (Jeremy Sheffield) helps bring the Holiday spirit this year whilst Tony (Nick Pickard) hosts a slap-up Christmas meal at The Dog.
Donny (Louis Emerick) leading the toast while the McQueen family win best dressed for their stunning outfits.
However, the idyllic Christmas setting cannot plaster over the sinister goings on within Hollyoaks .
Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin) has been trapped in a flat by her abuser Abe (Tyler Conti).
He has convinced her that she was responsible for his mum’s death and that she is safe from harm as long as she remains hidden away.
But she will discovering his lies and gets inspired by the crime books he has given her.
She will concoct a plan to get out of her situation and convince Abe that she’s dying.
As they are in the folly, he agrees to marry her as the plan is set in motion.
The trailer then cuts to a distressed Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) who is seen to slam on the police counter as she demands Abe gets arrested and the handcuffs slapped on his wrists.
However, the McQueen family celebration is turned on its head as one prominent resident will return.
Martha (Sherrie Hewson) has returned to the village to support her estranged granddaughter Sienna (Anna Passey) after she was suspected of murdering her new husband.
However, Martha will hold a secret and she is set to make a bombshell confession to her granddaughter as she tells her that she was the one who murdered Ethan.
Meanwhile, the heart of Mercedes McQueen has been stolen by the village Lothario, Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham).
Hollyoaks - cast member cull
HOLLYOAKS beauty Chelsee Healey has dropped the biggest hint yet she's been axed from the soap - yet what's happening at the Channel 4 show?
Earlier this year, the Channel 4 soap was forced to address the cull of cast members.
It came after The Sun was first to report Hollyoaks bosses plan to kill off a whopping 20 cast members.
Now Chelsee, who recently took time away from her role as Goldie McQueen to give birth to her second daughter, has now made a cryptic move on X.
The Manchester lass, 36, re-posted a picture of her character crying to her page.
It came after Stephanie Waring, famed for her 28-year-long role as Cindy Cunningham, confirmed that soap bosses had axed her as part of the 20-person strong cast cull.
Another big name set to quit for good is popstar turned soap star Jamelia.
The soap’s resident hunk and TV favourite Owen Warner has also left the show amid the cuts with fans left devastated to say goodbye to his character Romeo Nightingale.
Jamie Lomas has also quit the show and will depart his Warren Fox role soon.
Haiesha Mistry famed for her role as Yasmine Maalik has also left after seven years.
She will show him her vulnerable side as she undergoes more chemotherapy treatment for her cancer.
The family, including Mercedes’ mum Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane) are completely made up for her as they make plans to escape Chester for a romantic break.
However, her pillar of support during her treatment will turn into her worst nightmare as he is still very much married to Grace Black (Tamara Wall).
But he will have even more on his plate to worry about as the trailer teases the continuation of a romance with his brother’s girlfriend Vicky.

This comes as Mercedes will host a Christening for the Marias, which will be interrupted by Joel (Rory Douglas-Speed).
He was left spindling after he suspected his wife Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) of cheating on him and he even questions who the father of their daughter Clara really is.
Viewers will be left wondering what happened during the infamous time jump as she emotionally expresses how much she has been through.
Meanwhile, The Osbourne family are deep in preparation as Frankie (Isabelle Smith) gets ready for the sibling sexual abuse trial that will take place in January.
Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) watches a TV plea hearing in his son’s London university accommodation as he hides out.
Nancy (Jessica Fox) urges him to return home but she collapses live on air as she is pushed to the brink trying to hold the family together.
But as we approach the new year, the Hutchinsons are also facing a crisis of their own.
Tony and Diane (Alex Fletcher) are united in fear after they found their child Ro (Ava Webster) unconscious due to consumption of alcohol.
But he still believes Diane is struggling with her recovery.
And Dillon (Nathaniel Dass) is hoping to ring in the new year with his first love Lucas (Oscar Curtis), but he’s struggling to forgive Dillon’s betrayal.
