Dalgliesh hunts for a serial killer in first look at gripping new series of Channel 5 drama
CHANNEL 5 have dropped a first look at the new series of Dalgliesh with the hunt on to catch a serial killer.
Fans of the smash-hit crime drama have waited patiently for the next instalment after series two aired in April and May last year.
The wait is almost over though, with Channel 5 confirming Dalgliesh will be back on screens next month.
Premiering on December 5th, Bertie Carvel will reprise his role as the fan-favourite detective.
A new trailer for series three sees Dalgliesh undertake a brand new set of complex cases.
He’s tasked with caging a serial killer after two staff at the same nuclear plant turn up dead.
In the action-packed clip, he can be seen struggling to get the suspects to come clean.
As a body is carted out of a house, Dalgliesh can be heard saying: “This is now a murder investigation.
“I do expect honesty when I speak to you. The fact that you’ve withheld information has been noted.”
Dalgliesh first launched in 2021 and has become a hit with viewers.
The show is also broadcast to a US audience and airs on streaming platform Acorn TV.
Carlyss Peer, Jeremy Irvine and Siobhan Cullen also star in the series.
Meanwhile, Dalgelish is just one of a number of returning shows this December on Channel 5.
All Creatures Great and Small, The Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas Special and The Good Ship Murder are all set to return.

- Heat – EastEnders alum Danny Dyer leads this four-part action thriller, set in Australia, which sees two families holidaying together during bushfire season. But instead of rest and relaxation, secrets and lies start to unravel — and not everyone will make it out alive…
- Lie With Me – Another soap legend jets off to Australia, this time its EastEnders alum Charlie Brooks who takes as a married woman trying to saving her marriage by moving halfway around the world after her husband had an affair. However it’s far from plain sailing, as a young and attractive live-in nanny comes to work with the Fallmont family, and tensions soon build and eventually, someone ends up dead.
- The Drowning – Jill Halfpenny plays Jodie, a woman whose life is shattered following the disappearance of her beloved four-year-old son, Daniel. However, ten years later, the grieving mother thinks she’s finally found her missing child, and embarks on a journey to discover the truth about him. But has she really just found the son she has been missing for so long?
