Warm in the near-term; Strong Thanksgiving front brings colder temperatures
Warm air is surging northward out ahead of a trough, which will sweep across the region tonight. Ahead of it, south winds will lead to highs in the lower 80s and increasing clouds and moisture. A southwesterly wind at around 8-18 mph this afternoon, but winds will turn northerly behind a cool front by tomorrow.
Temperatures some 10-12 degrees cooler tomorrow, but this first front will not be overly strong. This means any cooldown will be temporary and short-lived, as warm air surges back northward for Wednesday and Thursday.
Highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s both Wednesday and Thursday as a warm front lifts back northward. This is in response to an even stronger impulse in the upper-levels, which will drive a significantly stronger cold front across the region Thursday night. A rain chance of about 30% Thanksgiving Day, before temperatures rapidly fall Thursday night and into Friday morning.
After a morning start in the lower 40s Friday morning, highs only rebound into the upper 50s Friday afternoon.
The weekend looks to remain cool with a mix of clouds and sun and highs only in the lower 60s, while morning starts will be in the 40s.
