Man, 73, found dead as police investigate Manhattan home invasion: NYPD
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 73-year-old man was found dead after a home invasion in Manhattan on Saturday, according to the NYPD.
It happened around 4:40 a.m. at a home near Broadway and 161st Street. A man entered the home through a window and opened the front door to let two others inside, police said.
A 40-year-old man who lives in the home was tied up by the suspects, according to authorities. A gold chain valued at $8,000 and $200 in cash was stolen.
The 40-year-old man wasn't injured. A 73-year-old man was later found inside the home with injuries that suggest he fell from a high position, police said.
The 73-year-old man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced dead. It's not clear if the man died during the home invasion.
