Unity House to kick off Children's Holiday Program in Troy
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Unity House is kicking off its annual children's holiday program on Monday, bringing holiday joy to families in need through the community's generosity. Donations of cash and gifts help support families throughout the season.
At the Unity House Holiday Store, parents can select gifts at no cost. They can choose from toys, clothing, and other necessities to meet their children's unique needs and interests.
Unity House expects to serve around 1,300 children who participate in its community programs this holiday season. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. at 484 River Street in Troy, with the main parking lot and entrance being in the back of the building.
To get to the back lot, the organization said putting the address 2-44 North First Street in Troy into the GPS will bring you there. Unity House noted that this is not the First Street in Downtown Troy, rather it is an unmarked alley at the bottom of Hoosick Street by River Street.
Those attending the event can only get to the back lot from the alleyway. It is only accessible from either Hoosick Street or Hutton Street. There is also a City Hall parking lot across from Hutton Street for overflow parking.
