But while Kerry was spotted with her panto cast mates at the Northwich Christmas lights switch on on Saturday, Katie was nowhere to be seen.
Kerry even shared a video of the festivities and encouraged everyone to buy panto tickets, writing: “Northwich you guys were the best! What a great night we’ve all had @abpltd don’t forget to get your tickets for the Panto.”
A source told The Sun: “Katie said she had another work commitment so couldn’t attend but it didn’t go down that well with the rest of the cast and panto organisers.
“A lot of people had no idea why she wasn’t there and had been expecting her. They feel like she should have made it work as the Christmas light switch on was a big promo event to push ticket sales.”
When contacted by The Sun, a rep for Katie said: “Kate has work obligations and the team were made aware well in advance. She’s on her way up north to start rehearsals with Kerry.”
Katie and Kerry – who met during I’m a Celebrity in 2004 – have secured fitting salaries for less than a month’s work.
An insider told us: “Katie and Kerry have secured themselves really good deals to do panto this year.
“They understand how much they are worth together and have already sold 10k tickets, so are really earning their keep.
“They are getting significant pay cheques for the role and they will be getting exactly the same amount.”
Anton Benson, who is producing the panto, said: “This is our 7th panto contract with Kerry and we are looking forward to working with her again and delighted to have Katie alongside her for the first time.”
Katie – who was declared bankrupt for a second time in May over an unpaid tax bill of £750,000 – revealed she was teaming up with Kerry in May.
Speaking on her podcast, she said: “I’ve signed up for Cinderella and I’m one of the ugly sisters – and guess who is the ugly sister I’m doing it with – it’s Kerry Katona!
“So Kerry got me the gig because she has been working with them for six years.
“And she was like ‘why don’t you come and do this panto’, and she said it was for the ugly sisters and I said ‘oh are we ugly then?’ and she said we can still be really pretty.”
Cinderella with Katie and Kerry is set to take place from December 8-31 at Northwich Memorial Court.
