Troy Rosario listed in Ginebra lineup for Commissioner’s Cup
MANILA, Philippines – It looks like Troy Rosario has finally made up his mind.
After testing the free agency waters, Rosario is expected to suit up for Barangay Ginebra in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup after he was listed in the Gin Kings roster released by the league on Monday, November 25.
The 32-year-old forward joins Ginebra after fielding offers from his former teams TNT and Converge.
Rosario averaged 13.5 points on top of 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in the season-opening Governors’ Cup for Blackwater, helping the Bossing compile a 5-5 record as they fell short of a spot in the quarterfinals.
He ended his two-year stint with Blackwater after becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of their campaign.
A former Gilas Pilipinas stalwart, the 6-foot-7 Rosario is a timely addition to a Ginebra side in need of a frontcourt boost, especially with the team still without injured Jamie Malonzo and Isaac Go.
Rosario can make his debut for the Gin Kings against NLEX on December 11 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Bringing back resident import Justin Brownlee, Ginebra hopes to go on a deep run in the Commissioner’s Cup, which kicks off on Wednesday, November 27, after bowing to TNT in the Governors’ Cup finals. – Rappler.com
