This is the most popular Taylor Swift song in the world, analysis shows
(NEXSTAR) — Whether you're a "Lover" or a hater, there's no denying the global presence of pop star Taylor Swift. Aside from her chokehold on the Billboard charts, you can pretty much count on hearing one of her songs at a certain point out in the wild.
But what would you guess is Taylor Swift's most popular song worldwide?
Recently, sports betting news outlet Action Network crunched the numbers — analyzing Google search results over the past year in over 100 countries around the world. The analysis took into account Swift's large body of music, which includes 11 studio albums and over 200 songs.
And while it might not be her biggest hit or most streamed song, the T. Swift song most people are searching for or talking about is the second single from her 2017 album "reputation," the pulsing and bombastic "...Ready for It?"
Action Network found the song was Swift's most-searched-for song in the most countries, at 59. The next most-popular on Google search were "cardigan" (17 countries) and "Cruel Summer" (13 countries).
Interestingly, "...Ready for It?" isn't listed among her most-streamed songs, per Spotify stream data.
Earlier this year, "Cruel Summer" — the 2019 "Lover" album-track-that-should-have-been-a-single — dethroned her iconic 2014 hit "Blank Space" to become her most streamed song. "Cruel Summer" currently boasts over 2.6 billion streams. "Cruel Summer" was released as an official single last year, earning a no. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in October 2023.
When it comes to the most-Googled Taylor Swift song over the past 12 months only, Action Network found Swiftie favorite "Enchanted," from 2010's "Speak Now," was the most-searched-for worldwide. Action Network determined that the song, which was not released as a single, garnered 550,000 average monthly searches. Meanwhile, the most-searched-for Taylor Swift song over the past 12 months in the U.S was 2014's "Bad Blood," which was the most popular song by the artist in 30 states.
Many Swift songs have received a bump in popularity over the past year too, due to the juggernaut Eras Tour, a career-spanning concert tour Swift began in March 2023 and is set to conclude in Vancouver on Dec. 8.
The tour, which was recorded and released theatrically, has gone on to gross nearly $2 billion as of October 2024, Forbes reports. By the time Swift leaves the stage of Vancouver's BC Place, Swift will have brought to a close the highest-grossing concert tour of all-time.
