Rain Sunday, then high pressure builds over PNW
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Rain showers returned to the Willamette Valley overnight and will linger throughout Sunday as a weaker weather system pushes through the Pacific Northwest.
Showers should taper off later Sunday afternoon. Expect high temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s in the valley and the Portland metro area. We will likely see a few sunbreaks as well.
After that, an area of high pressure will build over the Pacific Northwest and will last for most of the week. There is plenty of dry and mostly sunny weather on the way beginning Tuesday and lasting all the way until next weekend. This is great news for anybody who has travel plans for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Some leftover snow is likely to remain on the roads over the Cascade passes, but road conditions should improve as we get closer to the holiday. Speaking of holiday, dry time will remain in place Tuesday through next weekend so there will be plenty of opportunities to hang up your festive holiday lights this coming week.
The ski slopes look amazing for the holiday weekend, so get those skis waxed up and hit the slopes. We have the most snow on the ground at the area resorts this early in the season since 1994. Get out there and shred away!
