Sabres come back to winning side, over .500 after Jiri Kulich's OT goal beats Ducks
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jiri Kulich scored in the last minute of overtime to give the Sabres a 3-2 victory on the road against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.
Alex Tuch and Jason Zucker had goals within a minute late in the second period as Buffalo overcame a two-goal deficit. With consecutive wins out West, and victories in six of the past eight games, the Sabres raised their record (10-9-1) above .500 for the first time this season.
Owen Power had two assists, giving him 15 even-strength points this year, most among NHL defensemen, and Tuch assisted on Kulich's goal to boost his team-leading point total to 20.
Kulich got his first winning goal in his 12th NHL game. Skating into the rebound after Ducks goaltender John Gibson made a save against Tuch and Power on two-man breakaway, Kulich beat Gibson with a wrist shot from the high slot.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 22 saves, improving to 8-4-1 on the season.
The Sabres conclude their California road trip Saturday night in San Jose.
