Church Point man arrested, charged with 2016 murder of Erica Hunt
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- A Church Point man has been arrested in connection with the 2016 murder of Erica Hunt, his sister-in-law, authorities said.
Jordan J. Barnes, 33, of Church Point, was arrested Thursday by Louisiana State Police and charged with second degree murder, arrest records show.
Hunt went missing on July 4, 2016 after telling family members she was going pick up food. The case would remain cold until December 2018 when when her remains were discovered in Ville Platte. The remains were sent to a DNA lab where they were confirmed to be Hunt’s in 2021.
Bond details for Barnes, Hunt's brother-in-law. were not released.
