Iconic comedy show returning 30 years after first episode – but there’s a twist
AN iconic comedy show is making a major comeback 30 years after the debut of its very first episode.
Classic hit The Fast Show first made a comeback earlier this year and thanks to its runaway success, it won’t be long until fans can tune in once more.

Instead, the cast will be taking to the stage for yet another theatre tour.
Titled An Evening with The Fast Show, fans will be able to see the show’s cast in action next November when the tour hits venues across the UK.
It will include two nights at the iconic London Palladium with fans expected to pack out the venue both nights.
The show’s co-creators Charlie Higson and Paul Whitehouse
will reunite with Simon Day, John Thomson, Arabella Weir and Mark Williams once again for the tour which will provide a clear behind-the-scenes insight into some of their favourite cast and characters from the programme.
As well as that, the show’s trademark catchphrases and sayings will come alive on-stage once again.
In between discussions about the TV show between the cast, fans can expect to see their best-loved sketches, monologues and songs.
A tribute will also be paid to Caroline Aherne following her tragic passing.
Poking fun at the tour reprisal, Charlie Higson said: “The Fast Show was all about repetition, catchphrases and familiar
characters.
“So we’re going to repeat our last tour with the same catchphrases and characters. Hopefully audiences will believe it’s all new material.”
The quick-paced BBC comedy, which ran from 1994 to 1997, with specials in 2000 and 2014, featured more than 80 characters who made more than one appearance. The majority of them also featured on two huge live tours.
The Fast Show not only gave a platform to showcase the best in British comedy, including the late Caroline Aherne, but also A-listers such as movie star Johnny Depp, Robbie Williams — and a young Amy Winehouse.
Hollywood star Johnny appeared in a 2000 Suit You sketch as a customer of over-familiar tailors Ken and Kenneth, played by Paul and Mark.
Robbie featured in a special 2001 Comic Relief skit alongside Ted and Ralph — an older worker and a posh aristocrat secretly in love with him.
A 14-year-old Amy Winehouse featured in a 1997 Competitive Dad sketch alongside Simon and on-screen son Toby.
