Magnus Carlsen gives his prediction on Gukesh – Ding Liren
Magnus Carlsen’s take (take, take) on the upcoming Gukesh – Ding match is not one sided. “This match is so open, but I think Ding Liren will get the first chance. I could see a scenario where Ding Liren gets two or three massive chances in the first five or six games. And he absolutely has to take them!” says Magnus Carlsen. “Ding cannot lose the first game. He managed to come back against Ian, but from what we have seen from Ding Liren from the last one and a half years, I do not think he will come back if he loses game 1,” continues Carlsen and concludes that Ding Liren is the likely player to win a game first.
