Marius was arrested on expanded charges applying “to a violation of Section 291 letter b of the Penal Code, which applies to sexual intercourse with someone who is unconscious or for other reasons unable to resist the act.”
According to the police’s release, prosecutors decided to investigate the matter on November 6th.
“What the police can say about the rape is that it concerns sexual intercourse without intercourse. The victim must have been unable to resist the act,” they said.
Part of his charge also applies to the victim, extending “to apply to violation of section 282 of the Criminal Code, which includes abuse in close relationships. Furthermore, the charge relates to another violation of a restraining order against the same victim. In addition, a report has been filed for violation of a restraining order and driving without a valid driver’s license.”
Marius was arrested on Monday at 11:12pm while in a car with the victim, and the police searched and seized his Skaugum residence at the same time.
The royal is currently being held in central detention in Greenland, and there has not yet been a decision about imprisonment.
This is the third arrest for Marius in the last few months. In August, he was released and held for 30 hours on an assault charge, and in September, he was arrested for violating a restraining order.
