The ‘Survivor 47’ finale will be four hours long and air over two weeks
Remember the days of the “Survivor” finale airing over the course of three hours on one night? Well, that seems to have gone the way of the fire tokens.
Entertainment Weekly reports that for the current 47th season, the finale will be four hours long (!) instead of three, and it will air over two weeks on CBS. The first two-hour block is set for Dec. 11, with the second half airing on Dec. 18. Both episodes will begin at 8 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.
The after-show will still take place on the tribal council set, immediately after the winner is awarded their $1 million check, just like in all of the “New Era” seasons. That’s when host Jeff Probst will ask questions of the jurors and the final three, all while they chomp on pizza and sip some champagne.

This finale news marks yet another move in expanding “Survivor” to fill out more slots on the CBS network schedule. Beginning with “Survivor 45,” the long-running program started airing in 90-minute blocks (as opposed to 60 minutes), with two-hour episodes kicking off the seasons. The Hollywood strikes of 2023 was the reason for the supersizing, as reality TV shows were not affected when actors and writers starting picketing. Splitting the “Survivor 47” finale into two weeks also means this cycle will have 14 total episodes, as opposed to the normal 13.
Here are the remaining players on “Survivor 47” (click each name to be brought to their individual profiles): Andy Rueda, Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, Genevieve Mushaluk, Teeny Chirichillo, Caroline Vidmar, Gabe Ortis, Kyle Ostwald, and Sue Smey. Currently, Sue and Rachel are both holding hidden immunity idols, which on paper gives them an edge over their counterparts. Who are YOU rooting for to be this season’s Sole Survivor?
