See how GK Barry totally transformed acne-prone skin using ‘snake shedding’ method to go make-up free on I’m a Celeb
SHE’S already emerged as one of the favourites to win I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.
And as well as delighting fans with her hilarious responses to the programme’s admittedly horrific trials, GK Barry has also been showing off her flawless skin by going make-up free in the jungle.
GK Barry took to TikTok to share a video showing how she transformed her skin[/caption] She used the pricey Obagi products, which made her skin shed like a snake[/caption]But the Internet star hasn’t always had such clear skin, as she explained in a previous video on her TikTok page.
GK – aka Grace – decided to try the Obagi skincare system to clear her hormonal spots after the antibiotics she was prescribed by the doctors “stopped working”.
And she said that after just one week, she started “shedding skin like a snake”.
She showed the dry skin peeling off around her mouth and on her chin, as she said that the scarring – which she’d had for about two years – started to disappear as she progressed with the regime.
“Since using the treatment I haven’t had a new spot on my face in about a month,” she added.
She concluded by showing her face without a filter, as she admitted: “This is the clearest my skin has ever been.”
GK explained that she was using the Obagi foaming cleanser, hydrating moisturiser and pore therapy twice a day.
She also used the therapeutic lotion in the morning, and the Tretinoin cream at night
“Guys this isn’t an ad, this genuinely just saved me skin!” GK captioned the video.
The skincare system doesn’t come in cheap – at £132 for three of the main products.
However, the positive reviews continued on the Obagi website, with one person writing: “I’ve been fighting with acne since I was a teenager, and I’m 29 now.
“Nothing was working for me, then my dermatologist suggested these 3 products along with Tretinoin and wow, my skin is healing.
“It’s been more than month now I couldn’t feel any happier.
“These saved my life and I am more confident now.”
Likewise, GK seems more than confident showing off her make-up free skin in the jungle – even though she’s a fan of slapping on a heavy face of cosmetics for her many public appearances in real life.
Famously, I’m a Celebrity’s Georgia Toffolo – who ended up winning the show in 2017 – was given permission to take foundation into the jungle with her because she was so self-conscious about her spots.
Who is GK Barry?
GK Barry amassed more than a million followers on TikTok in just over a year during the first UK lockdown in 2020.
Grace Keeling, better known as GK Barry, is a 25-year-old social media influencer.
She rose to fame during the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, creating a TikTok account and posting short vlogs showcasing her day-to-day life.
Although she originally intended on staying low-key, she gained a large following in no time at all.
By August 2020, only five months after starting her account, she had already hit 100,000 followers, reaching more than a million in just over a year.
She now has over 4.5million followers across her social media platforms.
After completing a degree in film studies from Nottingham Trent University, Grace furthered her education with a master’s in digital marketing.
While at Nottingham Trent, she worked on the set of BBC series Doctors and the Netflix film Hood, as well as creating content for ShawMind — a charity working to promote mental health awareness.
Grace is known for her podcast, named The Saving Grace Podcast.
On the show she invites celebrities and influencers to have a chat about life and the latest trends, as well as any embarrassing stories from their past.
In May 2024, Grace said she was dating a female footballer.
Then in June it came out that the soccer star in question plays for England.
The Sun revealed that Grace and Charlton Athletic striker Ella Rutherford, 24, are getting serious — they’ve met each other’s family and holidayed together.
A source exclusively told The Sun: “GK has been seeing Ella for a while but they are very much official now.
“They grew even closer on holiday in Benidorm and GK has met all her family.
“She’s really happy and they are having so much fun together.”
However, in her exit interview, Toff said she did her utmost not to use the make-up as she wanted to do her best to “normalise” bad skin.
“When I was in there, my skin really flared up and it was really aggressive acne,” she said.
“There was a part of me that kept on thinking, ‘I really want my concealer.’
“Because I’m being really honest, I’m not totally myself when I haven’t got my war paint on.
“But I’ve been suffering with it now for 15 years and it was really important to me that I didn’t hide behind my concealer.”
