NATIONAL SUMMARY
Rain partially associated with Sara may lead to localized
flash flooding along the central Gulf coast from New Orleans
to the Florida Panhandle today. Showers will spread across
much of the Appalachians into the eastern half of the Great
Lakes region. To the west, steadier periods of rain are
expected back into Minnesota and Wisconsin. Winds will howl
over much of the Great Plains with gusts over 40 mph in many
locations. In central North Dakota, snow will begin to
accumulate. From eastern North Dakota into western
Minnesota, snow may mix with rain during the day, then
transition to all snow overnight. A major storm in the
Northwest will bring steady rain to much of western
Washington and Oregon. Heavy snow is anticipated in the
Cascades, including some mountain passes.
