Marin supervisor candidate Colbert edges closer to win
With just 2,275 ballots left to count, Brian Colbert continues to lead Heather McPhail Sridharan in the race for the District 2 seat on the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
The county elections office released an updated vote count Monday that added only 427 ballots to the District 2 tally. Colbert, a member of the San Anselmo Town Council, now has 51.12% of the vote, or about 600 more votes than McPhail Sridharan.
The election update on Friday added 3,237 ballots to the 140,965 previously tallied countywide.
In other Marin contests, Frank Egger continues to lead a crowded field in a race for three seats on the Fairfax Town Council with 21.71% of the vote. Mike Ghiringhelli is in second place with 18.63%, and Barbara Coler is in third place with 13.51%.
Close behind Coler are Chance Cutrano with 12.97%, Bruce Ackerman with 12.96% and Cindy Swift with 12.48%. Since the first tally on election night, Cutrano has risen from sixth place to fourth place. Doug Kelly trails with 7.75%.
In the race for two Town Council seats in Tiburon, Holli Thier is in first place with 27.16%, Isaac Nikfar has 26.92% and Andrew Thompson has 25.35%. Chuck Hornbrook trails with 20.57%.
In the race for two seats on the Marin City Community Services District board, Henry Mims leads with 41.27%. Lynnette Egenlauf is in second place with 32.51%, followed by Royce McLemore with 26.22%
In the Division 2 Marin Municipal Water District board race, Diane Maier remains in first place with 37.2% of the vote and second-place candidate Robert Sandoval remains close behind with 36.67%. Jack Kenney has 26.14%
In the race to represent Division 3 on the North Marin Water District board, first-place candidate Michael Joly has 52.84% of the vote over opponent Francis Drouillard, who has 47.16% of the vote.
The next update of the vote count is scheduled for Wednesday. State law mandates that final election results be reported to the secretary of state by Dec. 3.
