Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacio Hands Over Her Crown for Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico City
Mexico City is the home ground for 125 contestants from nations all over the world to compete to be crowned Miss Universe 2024 for the pageant’s 73rd year. Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo are this year’s hosts. The event goes down tonight at the Arena Ciudad de México.
Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacio, the winner of Miss Universe 2023, graced the stage tonight to pass along her crown to the next winner. Although they were hard to see, Palacio wore metallic silver platform heels, likely in a sandal style.
The pageant winner wore a light blue and silver halter-neck gown featuring crystalized adornments and voluminous sleeves shaped like rosettes. The gown was floor-length and slightly eclipsed her footwear. The star also wore a vibrant red gown in a similarly head-turning fashion created by Nidal Nouaihed.
Many contestants graced the stage in rhinestoned silver ensembles in a variety of styles accompanied by matching metallic silver footwear. Many, if not all contestants wore silver knee-high boots with stiletto heels and pointed toes.
Miss Universe is a pageant held annually by the Miss Universe Organization, which celebrates women’s accomplishments across the world. This year’s event is being held in Mexico City, Mexico. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event.
This year hosted 125 contestants from from all over the world. Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacio won last year’s pageant. Thus far, the dazzling spectacle has seen some historic moments, including the participation of the first Miss Universe UAE, Emilia Dobreva and Miss Bahrain.
The top 30 contestants as of now include girls from Egypt, France, India, Cuba, China, Mexico and Finland, among a slew of others. This edition will mark the debut of Belarus, Eritrea, Guinea, Iran, Macau, Maldives, Moldova, North Macedonia, Somalia, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
