Boy Mom Meghan Trainor Reveals the Creative Way She Got Her Son Riley to Stop Being Afraid of Toilets
Meghan Trainor‘s son Riley was terrified of toilets. “Terrified” being the optimal word here since recently, he’s conquered his fear of toilets with the help of his mom and dad.
Trainor recently talked to EOnline about having her sons on tour with her, and how, throughout it, Riley was so scared of the toilet.
“It’s hard when your 3-year-old son is afraid of all toilets,” she said. “So that was a curveball, for sure. And when we go into a new environment, especially on tour, he would cover his ears and go, ‘How’s the toilet?’ Like, that was his first concern.”
She added, “He doesn’t like the automatic flushers, because no one’s ready for that, you know? And it always goes mid-pee, so he was like, ‘Ahh!’”
Hey, those toilets can be quite loud! It can be so scary for a little one, so we totally get Riley’s fears. However, Trainor thought of a plan to both potty train him and get his fear of toilets to be over and done.
“We made this game where we collected toy potties,” she added. “We were like, ‘That was a good one, so we collect that one.’ Just anything to get him excited about going pee on the potty. And now he’s a pro! He can do it by himself.”
For those who don’t know, she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, have two wonderful sons named Riley, born in Feb 2021, and Barry, born in July 2023.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, Trainor talked about which of her songs her two sons adore.
“They always sing the Freshpet song. They love that one. And my younger brother produced it with me, so we always play it in the house because we’re so proud. But my youngest one started to booty dance. He started dancing recently, which is exciting. And then, then my 3-year-old, it’s the new song every day for him. He is a true Meghan Trainor fan. It’s weird. He loves “To The Moon” because he loves rocket ships, and he’s in the music video. So I think that’s his number one,” she said.
